Healthy Athletes Assistant needed for
Opportunity Description: We are currently seeking volunteers for Fall Games Aug. 20 for the Health Promotion program. Volunteers should be either in school pursuing a degree in or a professional in the field of nursing, dietetics or nutrition. You will assist in health screenings of height, weight, body mass index and blood pressure.

The Healthy Athletes initiative works to improve access to health care for individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing free screenings, making referrals to local health practitioners and training health professionals and students about the needs of people with intellectual disabilities. Health Promotion is one of seven programs offered as part of Healthy Athletes, which also includes Fit Feet (podiatry), FUNfitness (physical therapy), Healthy Hearing (auditory screening), MedFest (sports physical), Opening Eyes (vision screening) and Special Smiles (dental screening).
